Transition assistance program: Accomplishments

To all AITRs:

Status on recent accomplishments

VITA has been closely monitoring the operation of our infrastructure environment with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and notes the following accomplishments:

·   The disaster recovery systems were successfully validated Aug. 18-21 from the new disaster recovery data center in Manassas. All servers were recovered within their respective recovery time objectives.

·   VITA continues to closely track work requests. SAIC has gained momentum in processing work requests and providing proposals with a focus on clearing the backlog, optimizing the request process and improving communication with agencies.

·   Contracts have been finalized with two suppliers to provide laptops, desktops, peripherals and provisioning services. Shipping and fulfillment has started this week leveraging existing inventories with additional inventory expected soon.

·   New supplier contracts also enable VITA to re-establish personal computer refresh in 2019 after the transition to our new multisourcing integrator model in mid-December. Additional information will be forthcoming.

A rescheduled AITR meeting will be held at 9 a.m. at the Commonwealth Enterprise Solutions Center (CESC) on Oct. 3 where transition topics will be covered and AITRs will have a chance to ask questions.

Agencies can expect to receive information and participate in activities in preparation for the commonwealth transformation to the multisourcing integrator model (MSI) in mid-December.
