Training for staff at agencies being scheduled on new IT tools

From the CIO of the Commonwealth:

Agency Heads and AITRs,

The commonwealth, as we have discussed, is moving from a single supplier for IT infrastructure services to a multisourcing environment on Dec. 15.  In the next few days, your agency employees will begin receiving information about training and other resources that will be available to prepare them for this transition.

VITA will provide classroom training Nov. 26 through Dec. 20 on new tools that will be used in the multisourcing environment. This training is designed for individuals (finance, IT, project management, IT security and IT asset management staff) in your agency who require specialized training to prepare for changes specific to their job functions.

Each class is between two and three hours long. Employees will receive an email invitation to register for a training class that works with their schedules. In addition to the specialized training, all agency employees will have access to how-to videos, job aids, and short webinars on the new VITA service portal and service catalog.

Training for staff at agencies is a critical component of the commonwealth’s move to this new environment, which will offer agility, transparency, and the opportunity to improve existing and provide new IT services to meet your business needs.

Thank you for your continuing support as we prepare for the next generation of IT services.
