VITA’s new consolidated dispute process; will offer new billing tool in 2019

To all AITRs and agency finance professionals:

VITA has new consolidated billing dispute process; will offer new tool in 2019

On Dec. 15, the commonwealth will complete the move to a multisourced information technology (IT) infrastructure environment. This move brings the launch of the VITA service portalwhich will provide agencies with real-time visibility into tickets, easy interaction with the VITA Customer Care Center (VCCC or service desk) for support, and a robust knowledge base.

Dec. 15 also brings a new consolidated dispute process for all agency billing disputes. The new billing dispute form will be housed in the new VITA service portal. A job aid and simple how-to video will be available on the VITA informational website prior to Dec. 15 to assist you.

The new VITA billing tool, IT financial management (ITFM), will launch in early 2019. While much of the tool functionality is ready, we want to have time after Dec. 15 to pilot billing before it becomes the system of record. The new billing tool delivers a more consolidated invoice with enhanced capabilities. Agencies will be able to navigate their invoice and drill down into which assets tie to each charge.

Agencies will continue to receive bills using the existing system and processes until the new ITFM tool launches. VITA will provide agencies with training on the new ITFM tool. More information on the training timing and locations will be sent out in January.

Ongoing information on this transition can be found on the VITA informational website. If you have any questions, please contact your agency IT resource (AITR).
